Country Sunday Breakfast Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound bulk pork sausage
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups milk
  • 6 slices white bread, toasted and cut into cubes
  • 8 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until browned and crumbled. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, combine mustard powder, salt, eggs, and milk.
  4. Place the cubed bread in a lightly greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle the cooked sausage evenly over the bread cubes.
  6. Top with shredded Cheddar cheese.
  7. Pour the egg mixture over the entire casserole.
  8. Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight.
  9. Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking.
  10. Bake uncovered for 45 to 50 minutes, or until center is set and top is golden.
  11. Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
